La Anata Andina and the Carnaval de Oruro
The Oruro Carnival is is characterised by the Peregrinación, one of the most suggestive and emotional Carnival parades in the world: 20 hours of exciting music and spectacular masks dancing through the streets of Oruro to reach the church where they will worship the Virgin of the Mine (Virgen del Socavón). It is a profound experience and a privilege to witness such an incredible event.
The Anata Andina precedes the Carnival by two days and is the celebration of the harvest in thanksgiving to Pachamama, Mother Earth.
Here you will find a wide selection of images from both events.
